I’m going to take a little break from blogging about my Disney World trip to tell you guys all the exciting news that’s been happening dealing with my design site. Make that sites. Yup that’s right! Not only am I running Love, Rachie Designs but I have opened a new site RHouser Designs.
Love, Rachie Designs is going to just be for custom wordpress (for now at least) blog designs while RHouser Designs will deal with every other kind of design. For example, I just completed a photography portfolio site — its design and development. Yea, I really can do it all! Click on over and take a look!
I have another project lined up for RHouser Designs so I won’t be able to focus on my actual design sites for a while. It’s a little frustrating not to have the time needed for my projects and my sites. Obviously I’ve let my blog go a little bit. But hey, I also work full time at a nursing home as a nurse aid so give me some credit. I’d say that hopefully I’ll have time to work on my design sites before school starts back up again but the only way I think that’d happen is if I didn’t have any projects to work on. Which would mean I wouldn’t have any web design business. Which wouldn’t be good. Although I NEED to get my portfolio up and I need to have a more user friendly content based web site for both of my design sites I’d take having real business any day of the week. So keep ‘em coming!
In the mean time though please take a look at the following business card designs I have created and then vote for your favorite.

Seven out of 16 people agree that the name for my new, more professional web design business should be RHouser Designs. I thank all of you that voted. I’m actually surprised at the outcome.
Megan commented that she still really liked “love, Rachie designs” and so I felt like I should clear something up. I am still keeping “love, Rachie designs” but only as a custom blog design site. I’ve already invested too much in that site to drop it now and plus, like Megan, I love that name.
Monday I had a face to face meeting with a photographer from my area who’s site I am going to be designing. Everything was going real smooth until I gave him my design site email (loverachidesigns@gmail.com) if he had any questions. He had been calling me since we met in person but in case he couldn’t get a hold of me…and I like emails better I wanted him to have the chance to email me. He looked down at the card and read “…Rachie…?” I replied with something along the lines of “Oh yea, it’s a nick name I’ve had for years” and left it at that. He didn’t make a face and the tone in his voice wasn’t condecending or anything. I just can’t get that out of my head.
So, I’m opening up a NEW design site just for my more professional jobs — ie this photography site. Also, if I’m going to put my design site name on a business card (getting those made soon
) I’d like it to have my real name in there somewhere. That’s why I’m glad so many of you voted and that RHouser Designs won. Get excited, y’all! I sure am!
