Thursday, December 3, Neil and I moved into my parents’ lake house. Someday soon I hope to be comfortable calling it our house/our home.
The tour consists of 64 photos so I’m only showcasing my favorite things about the lake house our home.
This is the food pantry. The love of my life.

The master closet. This is just my side *drool*

Not that the actual dog beds are a favorite thing of mine but what they represent. My woopies

You better believe we make a fire in this thing every night.

Neil loves the rec room more than I do and maybe that’s why I love it so much? He calls it the man cave.

And of course, Benny. Of course he’s a favorite!

As I said, there are many more photos so click over to my flickr to view the whole tour.
If you missed part one of the big move, well, you shouldn’t have. Click here to see that post first.

April 2005 – my parents’ best friends, Calvin and Ellen, remodeled their cabin at the lake and moved there, selling their house across the street from my parents:

August 2005 – after my family spent most of the summer at the lake my parents started looking for a lake front property close to C and E’s lake house
May 2006 – in one day my parents bought a boat, a jet ski, and a place to keep them:

July 2006 – Neil proposed to me on C and E’s deck (this isn’t really relevant to the story but I like it):

Fast forward a couple summers because it really did take that long for my mom to decide upon a floor plan for her lake house…In the mean time we just played out on the deck and boat:

October 2008 – construction began on the lake house…slowly…
March 2009 – the lake house started looking like a lake house:

June 2009 – the house was finally coming together and we started counting down the days till we could actually use the house:

but we’d be taking advantage of the back porch until then:

July 2009 – we spent the first nights in the lake house and everything was perfect:

Fall 2009 – my parents and I continued to spend one or two nights a week at the lake house:

November 2009 – I got my much anticipated acceptance letter into nursing school in Hopkinsville and Neil got his student teaching assignment in Cadiz, both only 30 miles from the lake house. It only made sense for Neil and I to move into the lake house
December 3, 2009 – we made the big move
to be continued…
So much has happened and will happen this month, and I’m not even talking about Christmas. This Friday my friend Amy and her fiancee Scott are coming over for dinner. Sure I’ve met the boy but I’ve only seen him two other times and not since the engagement. Neil, however, hasn’t met him and since I will the maid of honor in this wedding I think Scott and Neil should get to know each other a little at least.
The following Friday I am hosting a girlie Christmas party. Man, this thing is going to off the hook! Do they even use that phrase anymore? Whatever, even if it’s so 90’s it’s still so true. I’ll go into more detail about it on another day. This blog entry is not about that party but where the party will be held.
Thursday Neil and I (finally!!) moved from our apartment in Murray to my parent’s lake house in Eddyville. We first moved into the apartment June 2007, a month before we were married. Two and a half years is plenty of time to get comfy in a place and I didn’t think I’d miss the apartment until we got it all packed up Wednesday. We’d been slowly moving stuff to the lake house for about a month now and it seemed like we had started too soon but then all of the sudden it was Wednesday night and the house was almost empty. That was my and Neil’s first place together. I painted every wall in the apartment. We lived in every single one of its rooms. We took full advantage of the fenced in back yard – or rather the puppies did. Before this time last week I couldn’t WAIT to get out of that tiny (compared to the lake house anyway…) hell hole. Now as I write this from the vaulted ceiling-ed living room in my new home I find myself wishing I were sitting on the dorm room sized couch in the 13×12 cramped living room of my old apartment.
In the middle of packing I realized I never gave the grand tour of the apartment. Sorry this is a little late and it’s more than obvious that we were in the process of moving but better late than never, right?

We kept our dress clothes and shoes in the study closet so I had Neil make me a custom closet organization shelving unit. Can you guess where all my high heels were?

Neil also made one for the space behind the study door for study like things. Paper, you know.

So as you can see only a few pieces of furniture made it to the lake house, as the the lake house is already furnished and with much better stuff than what we had. Also a lot of our belongings are going in storage because the lake house is all set up for living in and my mom didn’t want us to “clutter” it up. Fine by me, I didn’t really want it all anymore anyway
